Thackley Methodist Church sits at the heart of the historic Village of Thackley on the edge of Bradford. Dating from 1889, the Church has played a key role in providing a home for community organisations since its inception. Whilst the Church Hall maintains a packed programme of activities, the mezzanine overlooking the worship space is currently under utilised due to the steep raking of the seats. The worship hall also lacks toilet and kitchen facilities as due to safeguarding, areas of the church complex are out of bounds when the the church hall is being used by children (which is most of the time). We are currently working with the church to convert the mezzanine into a useable space with lift access and WC and kitchen facilities below. This will enable the space to be used throughout the week for a range of community facilities and be accessible as possible for a wider group of people.
